Animal pen heating

Improving the survival, comfort and growth rate of a variety of livestock, such as chickens and piglets, is greatly enhanced by providing a suitable heat source during cold periods.

Heatec has also designed and installed cable installations for the comfort and display of various animal species in zoos. This includes crocodiles, lizards, snakes and bilbys.

Pig pen heating illiustrated

With Heatec warming the imitation rock at Currumbin Zoo, animals are provided with winter comfort and drawn to spots where they are more visible to the visitors.

Heating cables for animal husbandry purposes are generally installed in the same manner as those described on the page for under tile heating - using the bedded floor method.

“Client” needs vary. For example, piglets may be offered a warmer area partitioned off from the mother with bars they can fit through, encouraging them to find warmth away from the danger of the mother crushing them whenever she rolls over.
